Why does my toilet keep running?
A toilet that keeps running almost always has a worn flapper that no longer seals, a fill valve that will not shut off, or water spilling into a mis-set overflow tube. The flapper is the usual culprit — rubber sitting in Florida's mineral-rich water wears out fast. All three are quick, inexpensive fixes.
What is a phantom flush?
A phantom flush is when your toilet refills on its own without anyone touching it — often noticed at night. The flapper is seeping, letting tank water drain slowly into the bowl until the fill valve tops the tank back up. It will not damage the toilet, but it wastes water until the flapper is replaced.
How much does toilet repair cost in Florida?
Toilet repair cost depends mostly on which part failed: a flapper or fill valve swap sits at the low end, a wax ring costs more because the toilet has to be lifted, and a corroded shut-off valve adds a little. We give you a free estimate and a firm upfront quote before any work starts.
Can I replace a toilet flapper myself?
Yes — a flapper is one of the most DIY-friendly plumbing parts; if you can shut the supply valve and match the size, go for it. It gets trickier when flappers keep failing on a scaled valve seat or the shut-off will not turn. If a new flapper did not cure the running, have us take a look.
Why is there water around the base of my toilet?
Water at the base usually means the wax ring has failed, the closet bolts have loosened and let the toilet rock, or — often in our humid climate — it is condensation off a cold tank in summer. A failed wax ring matters because water can seep under flooring unseen, so we identify which of the three it is first.
