Plantation is a mature city — most of it was built between the late 1950s and the 1980s — and mature plumbing is our specialty here. East of University Drive, the ranch homes off Broward Boulevard, Peters Road and Sunrise Boulevard carry original copper that has aged into pinhole leaks and cast iron drains that corrode from the inside. Plantation Acres, with its acre lots and horse-friendly streets, adds long buried supply runs and, on some properties, wells and septic. Jacaranda and the neighborhoods west of University are 1970s and 80s construction: still copper on the earlier streets and polybutylene on the later ones, with slab-on-grade foundations that turn a supply leak into a warm patch on the tile.
